UNISON EMAS Christmas and New Year Bulletin

As we approach the festive season, we at UNISON EMAS would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

This Christmas could be one of the most challenging to date, and we want to remind our members that we are here to support you throughout. We sincerely thank you for your unwavering hard work and commitment to delivering excellent patient care, not only during the festive period but throughout the entire year. You are AMAZING, and you continually surprise us with your dedication to those in need.

We truly hope that, despite the challenges, you are able to spend quality time with family and friends over the holidays – you absolutely deserve it!

Positive Updates for 2025

We are pleased to share some exciting developments for 2025:

· Annual Leave Notice Period: Earlier this year, we approached the Notts Division to relax the 28-day notice period for annual leave. After positive discussions, this change has been implemented in most divisions, with other workplaces expected to follow suit in 2025.

· NEPT’s PCA Band 3 Pay: We successfully campaigned for Band 3 pay for NEPT’s PCA staff. Staff consultations will begin on 6th January 2025, with implementation expected by April 2025. Back pay talks are ongoing, and we will consult with UNISON members once a proposal is available.

· EMA Band 4 Pay: We’ve worked tirelessly with the EOC Senior Leadership Team in partnership to try and achieve Band 4 pay for our EMA staff. A major update on this will be shared in early January 2025.

· Re-banding of UCA’s, ECA’s, and ASC’s: We continue to advocate for the re-banding of UCA’s, ECA’s, and ASC’s. The Terms of Reference have been agreed, and a Task and Finish Group—comprising active staff members in these roles—will meet again on 10th January 2025 to continue collaborating with the Trust. We expect a substantial update by spring 2025.

These are just a few of the many positive developments that reflect our ongoing efforts to support and improve conditions for our members. That’s why we believe it pays to be in UNISON.
